Cancel For Any Reason (Cancel For Any Fortuitous Reason in NY)

Available on: Ultimate

Optional additional protection for the unexpected — whatever it may be — when you meet purchase and cancellation requirements. Coverage benefit up to 75% of the insured trip cost.

• Cancellation must occur two days or more before your scheduled departure date.
• Upgrade must be purchased within 21 days of the initial trip deposit and at the time of the initial plan purchase.
• Upgrade must be purchased 31 days or more before your departure date.
• The maximum trip cost is $10,000 per person, and the full trip cost must be insured.
• Subsequent arrangements must be insured within 14 days of booking those arrangements.

Rental car damage upgrade

Available on: Ultimate, Advantage, Travel Med Go

This upgrade provides up to $50,000 reimbursement for rental car damage due to covered reasons, such as accidental collision and theft, while the vehicle is in your possession. There is a $100 deductible.

Adventure activities upgrade

Available on: Ultimate, Advantage, Travel Med Go

Provides coverage for participation in excluded activities, such as skiing, scuba diving below 75 feet, mountain climbing, bungee jumping, BASE jumping, parasailing, and hot-air ballooning, among other activities. Includes a search & rescue benefit and a security evacuation benefit if the insured is in imminent physical danger. Exclusions apply. See policy for details.

Accidental death for air travel upgrade

Available on: Ultimate, Advantage, Travel Med Go

This upgrade provides a benefit if the insured suffers a loss of life as a result of a covered injury while boarding, as a passenger on, or alighting from an air common carrier during a trip. Exclusions may apply. See policy for details.

Medical upgrade

Available on: Ultimate, Travel Med Go

This upgrade increases your maximum coverage limit an additional $250,000 for emergency medical treatment expenses if you become sick or injured during your trip.

Pet care upgrade

Available on: Ultimate, Advantage, Travel Med Go

The pet veterinarian expense benefit provides coverage if your dog or cat accompanying you on your trip becomes injured or sick, with a maximum benefit limit of $2,500 per plan.

The pet care benefit provides up to $250 coverage for kennel expenses to extend your dog or cat’s stay in a licensed kennel if you experience a covered travel delay on your return home.

Security deposit upgrade

Available on: Ultimate, Advantage, Travel Med Go

Reimbursement up to a maximum benefit limit of $2,000 per plan for expenses, such as the cost of repairs, should you cause accidental damage to your accommodations. Does not cover damage from pets, and other exclusions may apply. See policy for details.

Cancel for business reasons upgrade

Available on: Ultimate

Protect your travel investments and recover nonrefundable prepaid costs if you need to cancel your trip for business-related covered reasons.

• Upgrade must be purchased 31 days or more before your scheduled departure date.
• The maximum eligible trip cost is $10,000 per person.

Baggage upgrade

Available on: Ultimate, Advantage, Travel Med Go

The Baggage Upgrade increases the baggage benefit limit, adds coverage for lost or stolen electronics and professional equipment, as well as adds a sporting equipment rental benefit if your sporting equipment is lost, damaged or stolen.
